Original Encaustic in Burnt Umber, Golden Buff, and Silver Pearl
(Surgere is Latin for ascend, resurrection, or to rise. I created this neutral piece from a previous painting that was incomplete and I just could not come to peace with finishing. Once I decided to start over again and give it new life the composition started to speak to me and just fell into place. Surgere embodies new beginnings by rolling back the stones in life that may hinder us, there is then an opening and we arise once again to continue on our journey. Surgere speaks of having faith in the invisible and for holding space for a higher power in this process. There is an energy in this piece of transformation, assistance, encouragement, and praise for such. The Burnt Umber is rich and deep moving together with the Golden Buff it becomes mysterious as you search for meaning while Silver Pearl lights the way to an onset of your own understanding. )
